To obtain a license from SIA, you need to show certification of your close protection training. This only applies to front-line staff such as bodyguards. Close Protection driver training and close protection officer training are available.
To get the level 3 certificate to operate as a close protection officer in the private security sector, you need to take two training modules and then sit for an exam. The duration of this close protection license training is 140 hours.

First Aid Training
Applying for your license requires producing evidence that you have had SIA recognized first aid training. Presenting your valid first aid certification to your training agency is a prerequisite to training. However, if you do not have such close protection security training, you need to obtain the recognized first aid award for your license. This training is completed in addition to the main training.
SIA recognized first aid awards are-
� First Person on Scene (FPOS) Immediate Award
� First Aid Response (HABC) level 3
If you have any first aid qualification other than the above two, you may contact Pearson or IHCD for accreditation or equivalence.
Provision of Exemption
You will be eligible for full or partial exemption from SIA close protection training. Close protection training UK have such provision. Free close protection training seminars can also be attended.
